bell hooks book club starts June 9
Join us this June in reading and discussing bell hooks: The Last Interview and Other Conversations
Our first book club of the summer starts in 2 weeks! Join us to discuss bell hooks: The Last Interview and Other Conversations. It features six interviews with influential feminist author, educator, and activist bell hooks, from her 1989 conversation with sociologist Yvonne Zylan to her 2017 interview with journalist Abigail Bereola.
A prolific writer (she authored more than 30 books!), hooks died in 2021. The interviews collected here cover gender, race, love, sex, self-actualization, intersectionality, feminist theory, and much more, making them a great introduction to hooks’ philosophy and a rich source for discussion-provoking ideas.
Our June book club meets from 8-9 p.m. EST on June 9, June 16, and June 23. Meetings take place via Zoom.
You can RSVP and get more details by signing up for the Feminists for Liberty book club here.
